October in Michigan is supposed to be full of sunny skies and beautiful colors on the trees. Well, that isn't quite what happened this year, but we did have some good times despite those facts. Our very good friends, Brian and Cathie, came out to visit us from Phoenix, which was so great. I can't say that we did much, oh wait, we had to sit around in our freezing cold house and wait for the furnace to be replaced. We had to come in from playing outside after only 15 minutes because our noses were red and our eyes were watering. We did make it to the apple orchard to pick apples, play on the hay tower, pet the animals, feed a goat who got it's head stuck outside the fence, and eat donuts of course. This also led to Nina getting a few of her teeth loosened up :)
Alek eating his apple, he really is having a good time.
Dennis checking Nina's teeth after the first apple bite. Yep, they are loose.
Caleb in the wagon with apples. What a cutie!
Nina in the hay tower.
Our dear friends, Brian, Cathie, and Caleb.
Alek playing puppets at the Children's Museum.
Alek and Caleb making lunch at the museum.
Nina and Caleb on the wii. Alek had an amazing time with his friend Caleb and was asking if he was still at our house for 2 weeks afterwards. We had some great time to just hang out as friends with hot apple cider, apple crisp, and anything else we could come up with that was warm. Dennis and Brian got hours to play video games and Cathie and I had good times just chatting. It's times like these that I wish I lived closer to our "old" friends.
